My season is over. Made an aggressive move and hung a stand in a tiny pine only 3 sticks up. I was about 15 yards from a massive trail coming from the bedding that I watched 13 deer use 3 days ago. Ended up seeing a doe 250 the opposite way and that was it. I'm hoping my target buck makes it to 7.5 next year and I can continue the quest. I gave it my all, passed multiple bucks and kept the faith. It's disappointing for sure though.

Been snowing/raining mix today. So after work grabbed the muzz and headed into the woods, only had an hour and half. Moved really slow, seen couple does then just before dark had a buck come off the hill. When I pulled the hammer back the first time he froze and then it was a waiting game, which seemed like forever. Just before closing time I tried to maneuver around the one small sapling in my way, no luck.

Good evening in my eyes just did not end the way I wanted. Think I should have tried a little harder to MAKE it happen. I plan on bowhunting a bit more, not done yet.

Haven’t been on here in a week or so. Good luck to everyone still grinding! I’ll be out again this Saturday.

Was out for a walk yesterday and found my first big rubs of 2021. Place was torn up pretty good.

Congrats m-m, sure is a nice feeling having a full freezer. My kids always enjoyed tracking/recovery.
Looks good UM. One thing I can say about being laid off all fall is that I had plenty of time to scout, hunt, process deer and get in season/post season scouting for next year. Below normal snowfall helps too. Managed to put up a couple bucks and does and have already been on 18 scouting missions since we put the last one in the freezer. Have some great Intel and high hope's for next season! :D

Hunted for a late season archery doe a few times this week. Had a few pretty close calls, but man it's tough this time of year, especially on places that have been hunted like crazy. The deer are on absolute pins and needles. I've still got a week left in PA to get one killed, so I should be able to make something work. Since my students are still working virtually, I'm able to to slip out a little early and hunt whatever evenings I want.

Missed a doe this evening. 26 yards, but super still out. She jumped the string like crazy. The hunt worked out exactly like I drew it up, except for her ducking LOL.
