Nice! On doe patrol?

Started walking in after checking crop rotations nearby at dawn. Thermals are still pulling opposite of forecasted wind. Because of this I wind bumped a lone doe so now I’m waiting out the thermal drop. Good news is she cantered off calmly from private onto the public bedding area I’m headed to. I’ll shoot a doe today if I get the chance.

Good luck beasts! Taking the kid out rifle hunting this weekend, hoping to get him on his first buck but he only has one deer under his belt so I told him brown its down, then if he shoots a doe he can fill my tag on a buck, he was pretty pumped about that.

Not bad!! I just shot a doe for my buddy that takes me duck hunting. He doesn’t deer hunt but he shoots the heck out of the birds and he likes venison. Something had to die this morning. Lol

That scenario right there is why I haven’t been out trying to fill any of the 4 doe tags I have!

Figured I would put less pressure on already heavy pressured areas before gun season.

Had an encounter with a borderline shooter already this morning, but the wind swirled, these draws are tricky. I have a good feeling I know where he headed, and the wind is supposed to come up on the next couple hours, so I'm going to go after him. Until then I moved up fifty yards to a hopefully more advantageous position.

Just skewered a buck at 10 yards while I was sitting on the ground. My 3rd bowhunt of the season. Watched him tip over!!! He looked awesome! Nice fat 2.5 yr old I think. Fingers crossed he is layed out in the grass over there

Ended up seeing 8 total. Unfortunately, guy is running the chainsaw next to me so, I’m going to help my bro and then move to some bedding for the rest of the day
