MI Antlerless Applications for Sale

*From Chad Stewart, Deer and Elk Program Specialist*
Just a reminder if you typically put in for antlerless license applications--yesterday the NRC passed a regulation that allows for your deer or deer combination license to be used to take an antlerless deer during the firearms and muzzleloader season in the lower peninsula. This gives greater flexibility to hunters in these regions in how and where they choose to use their licenses. Your unused deer or deer combination license will also be eligible to be used this year on an antlerless deer in either the early or late antlerless season.

A lot of deer are gonna die this year come rifle season.

Some areas the doe to buck ratio is out of whack on private ground. It will impact public lands the most I think. Sounds like the early and late antlerless season is Open on public lands in the lower now? Didn’t that used to be private land only?

I can say for sure our land does not follow that ratio. This will be year 4 or 5 so we are figuring things out.
