My new high rise went up yesterday.
Put my new blind up on the platform yesterday.
Wind was light when I decided to start raiseing the panals.
First up is the front. Yes I did it all but the back door my self with Bota's help. It did a fine job of it too.
Next to go up was the west side.
All the way up and lag bolted to the front, front brace removed and side lag bolted to the floor of the platform.
Next to go up was the east side. This I believe after the fact was the wrong order. I now believe I should have did the rear the door panal.
Lag bolted to the front and the floor.
Front (south faceing) and the East and West sides finished.
The hard part getting the back door panal up in place. I was really struggling with this panal as there was no room to maneuver safety with no back porch.
Could not lift it higher with the Bota because it was starting to push that wall over.
Got lucky and Kare came out the see how I was doing.
She ran the loader controls while I held thre panal away from the east wall. I then struggled to get it up on the platform as the botas bucket fell 2 foot short of raiseing it all the way.
I ended up tiping it on it's side slideing it on the platform then lifting it back right side up and lag bolted it to the sides.
Finally in place.
Yes there are a lot of cracks I will have to caulk, Plan on a black plastic barrier on the inside also. I also have some coragated hi way fast food signs I am going to put inside. I used some on another blind i built a few years back.

Did you concrete it in ground? If not it may get blown over? Looking good too!
I'm reason they call it hunting and not shooting.

Re: My new high rise went up yesterday.
Not concreted in the ground None of mine are and none have blowen over some have been up since 2004 when it became legal in Michigan the year before.
This one I have spent a lot of time in over the years. Since it is in the front yard I have it on skids so I can use the ATV to pull it back in the pines for summer mowing.
This was one of the first and is only 6 foot up.
This one was my second one and at 4'x6' I feel to big I much prefur 5'x5' or 4'x5'.
And my pride and joy is this nearly all recycled stuff. A friend owns a pole barn building company . He was contracted to take down a old metal shed and build a way bigger tool shed. He gave me some of the savagable metal from the take down.
And scarp bits from the new build I put on the corners to say Hey deer hunter here.
Plastic corrugated fast food Hi Way sign installed on the frame before the steel.
I painted the insides flat black so I didn't drool over thre food and coffee.

After seeing a better picture. Those are wide at bottom. Nice looking builds.

Re: My new high rise went up yesterday.
Nice fort!
What model Kubota is yours?
I bought a brand-new B2650 HST with the same FEL as yours and mid-mount mower last fall.
I only got in a few hours of snow removal work on it until now.
But I had it out moving dirt and gravel this week on a couple landscape jobs with a LandPride box scraper.
Man, I LOVE that tractor; probably the nicest thing I have ever owned.

Re: My new high rise went up yesterday.
My Bota is a L3301 33HP about 350 hours on it and hate the thing. I have puckered up on the seat so much there is a perment ridge in the seat from it. Maybe if the property was table top smooth?
Switching the rear tires aroung helped a lot with the stability but there are still a lot of time it scares the be jabbers out of me.
I had been dealing on this one but my banker said parts cost to much for them. so she said to pay twice as much for. a new one instead.
Now I am stuck with the unstable bota till I won't loose my shirt when it leaves the place.

Re: My new high rise went up yesterday.
Looks good, built nice and sturdy but something a guy can still handle.
I have a blind behind my house that’s 25 ft to the floor on an old crane tower. Nice as heck but I didn’t put it up and I’m afraid to try and take it down. The guy ran electrical out to it ( I didn’t even know until we moved in) the wife sits in it sometimes but it Really sucks because it was put up right on a swamp transition and a lot of deer pass behind it and cut your trail also there are a few doe beds like right next to the thing watching the stairwell :doh

My B2650 (4wd) seems to be at least as stable as any similar-size/width tractor I've ever driven.
I'd suggest that if you are a bit nervous about operating it on hillsides, that you are probably a sensible fellow.
Using ANY FEL on a slope has potential for rollovers with a careless operator.
That said, I think your banker is generally right.
Those older tractors still have potential to be useful, but they can be a money pit for hard-to-find parts and service.
