Deer memory

Unread postby greenhorndave » Fri Mar 27, 2020 3:35 pm

I enjoy Dr. Ken's stories. This one is on deer memory and his personal example (with pictures) is just terrific. A lot of good information in it aside from that story.

Listening to his stories gives me a hankering for a worthers original or a piece of butterscotch candy.
Be original and Enjoy every step along the adventure.

That's one of Dr Ken's big pieces of advice... Be mobile. They're mainly gun hunters so they usually hunt on the ground.

Pavlovs law of classical conditioning. Principles of dog training. All animals will learn through positive and negative reinforcement but also if you pair something that they have a natural response with some thing they normally would have a neutral response. An example of this would be if a deer smells human odor on a trail camera enough times it will have the same response to the camera even if there is no human odor. Same could be said for footprints or permanent tree stands. Its not necessarily memory but a subconscious reaction.
