Iowa youth season
Looking at Iowa regs it seem they have a youth season overlapping the start of archery. Maybe some of you Iowa guys can answer on how much this is taken advantage of on public? Obviously it varies but can you expect to see youth out taking advantage of this or not really.

Re: Iowa youth season
I didn't check, but usually the youth season starts in mid September...Iowa bow opens Oct. 1. I would guess the "yutes" rarely hunt public during that time frame...you'd be more likely to run into small game hunters IMO.

You will run into more squirrel hunters than kids out deer hunting.

I'd guess the majority of youth hunters I know are hunting private properties. Early season archery you're going to see tons of tree rat hunters. In NE Iowa you'll be dealing with the Hmongs... and I've heard they're THICK on rhe public

I must have gotten really lucky last time I drew a deer tag. I hunted much of October and never seen one single squirrel hunter. As a matter of fact I never even ran into another deer hunter in the woods. I have a feeling I may eat those words this fall.
