The lockdown phase bump and dump

Unread postby TN Whitetail Freak » Sat Nov 30, 2019 9:17 am

Anyone have a case where this was successful? I ask because over last 3 hunts ive decided to still hunt because of the lock down phase and rainy conditions. Each hunt resulted in me kicking up good bucks laid with a single doe. Is it a good tactic to make a move on where they were laying or have you guys seen the bedding to be too random

No direct experience with tat but can't imagine they will go far. You may even be able to get on them again once bumped. If you know where the next doe beddig area is creep to that.

They probably wont be far, try to find them back. If you cant and shes hot the area she was laying could get some traffic from other bucks for sure.

No experience with a bump and dump in that scenario. But if you can get the doe to go the opposite way of the buck. Try to dog the doe for a ways, or until she beds. But not right on her trail. Then set up down wind of her trail/bed.

Ive had several occasions where a doe and buck split and the buck comes back to the exact spot they were before they bolted. And I mean EXACT spot.
