River bank hunting

I have been hunting this pinch point along this river now for a few seasons and I have found that the bucks walk the bank like a highway during the rut while cruising for does, where the buck icon is I have seen or have pictures of several trophy bucks walking the bank, what would be the ideal wind and time of day to hunt a spot like this?

I would look at those sightings and pictures to answer that question. Look up the historical weather data on those dates. Choose your setup accordingly. My two cents.

If you still have the pictures, check the dates and see if you can look up the historical wind data for those days. Maybe there’s a pattern to when/how the bucks are traveling there

I’ve looked them up before but they all seem to be different wind directions that don’t really add up, I’ll double check them and let ya’ll know what I find out

This is all the info i can think of

Yellow pin is a group of known doe beds

Purple was a 5 1/2 year old buck 1 month before prime rut at 8AM with a ESE wind

Yellow line (same buck as purple but 2 years earlier) prime rut 4:30PM S wind

Blue line was an older buck I saw that I’m not sure his age, by the look of him he was an older deer at least 5 or more, prime rut 4:30PM W wind

Red line 8 year old buck that my buddy ended up killing later that year I had a picture of him during prime rut at 3AM with
N wind

I'd anticipate any kind of east or north wind where they can use the bank to scent check everything inland. Without seeing an aerial to know what the over is like, I'd also expect those does to be bedding farther towards the river one east winds.

I'm thinking maybe since they're random winds when they come through that they're cutting around the downwind side of the doe budding area and the trails they end take end up connecting the trail that you're getting the pictures on? Or they could just be scent checking the doe trails coming out of there. I'd say maybe find some of those side trails and set up on one of those depending on the sign.
