Late November Tactics

Unread postby reKor11 » Fri Nov 22, 2019 1:33 am

Hey all, love the site and all the great information provided. Here in MA we are still in bow season.

I am looking for some late Nov tactics in hill country and big woods/mountain.

Is the priority:
1. terrain funnels like early/mid Nov
2. specifically targeting buck bedding (getting up high on the knobs in the morning trying to catch them coming back or setting up below potential bedding in the evening)
3. starting to shift towards "late season food sources"? (There is almost no ag nearby, food sources are oaks and browse)
4.finding and hunting doe groups

I have a great deal of public land at my disposal, just hoping to narrow down some options. Thanks!

I have seen a couple of giants (one a 190” NT) last couple of days of November. One was on a food source, one following a doe. Finding one seems to be the hardest part as always, but moreso now as there are fewer around. Moving till you find one and keeping your confidence up is the best way to approach it. I try to mentally treat late November like I treat midday hunting: the odds aren’t great that I’ll see anything, but if and when I do, it’s very likely gonna be a BIG one.
Bowhunting is not for the faint of heart. But fortune favors the bowed.
