First bow buck with both sides of a rack.. on public!
This guy is by far and away my biggest bow buck ever. Went in for the first time this year into an area in an overlooked public piece that ive seen tons of does in years past. Walked to the general area and found lots of fresh scrapes on the access path in the valley. Got to a spot where the leeward ridge sloped a little gentler where they cross the creek and where those trails dumped out there was 4 scrapes within 15 feet of eachother. I looked up the hill and saw a buck running 2 does around and figured i wasnt gonna overthink it. I was gonna get tight to the edge of the thick cedars up top where all the sign converged and see what happened. Waited for the deer to move off, hoofed it 90 yards up the hill and hung the stand. 10 minutes later i hear what sounded like a lone, heavy deer walking up the ridge from the bottom where the scrapes were, except he was on the point next to the one i had come up. Once i saw the rack and knew i would shoot if given the chance, i prepped for the 35ish yard shot he was heading for. He turned last second and came right at me, closing in to 15 yards. When he hit my trail from coming up he stopped for a brief second and i slid one inbehind the last rib to compensate for the hard quarter away. Shot was a very steep angle and nicked spine on the way in. He dropped in his tracks, and in the flopping he was doing i put a second one in the other side. Expired in less than 20 seconds. I am so beyond excited to have finally accomplished the goal i set to kill a nice buck on public with my bow. I have a feeling this is just the beginning!!

Nice, I like the "not gonna over think this"...

Nice!
I'm reason they call it hunting and not shooting.
