So I put stealth strips on the cables of my lone wolf hang on a couple of seasons ago as my rubber boots like to squeak against them. They are starting to peel off now and before I replace them I am wondering if anyone has a more "permanent" solution?
Overall I LOVE stealth strips and have them on EVERYTHING I can put them on, including my rangefinder lol. Unfortunately my boots rub my cables so often that I wear them off quickly.

I had the same issue with the part of my cables. I used black athletic tape and just wrapped it in that section. I know it is not the permanent fix but it has worked now for two seasons.

Jrain, Dave, something doesn't sound right.
I have seen cable silencers stay on for 9 years. I think I put a set on dan's stand in Oconomowoc in 2013, he hunts pretty hard. I am not denying that you two had an issue, but it should last much longer than a couple of seasons. Why don't you guys drop me an email, pm, or call and I will send you out replacements.

Re: Stealth strip - Lone wolf cable
I touch up my cable silencers about every other year. I tend to jam my leg/boot against them. If they start to peel run a small piece of stealth strip perpendicular to the cable/cable silencer to hold the peeling section together.

Re: Stealth strip - Lone wolf cable
Thanks everyone for the responses. I really like stealth strips and will continue using them on my cables.
As a quick tip to everyone: I carry an extra strip with me while on hunts so if I find anything making noise for whatever reason I can silence it then and there.

This ain't going to fix you problem but what I do is pull out your pants out of your boots when you get set up.

I do this too....even if your cable doesn't squeak, if you rub the boots together they can squeak if not covered.
