New Guy question about transition point.

Unread postby Stringpuller74 » Tue Oct 15, 2019 2:44 am

I was wondering if you veteran beast hunters could tell me from a map Ariel perspective if im viewing this tactic correctly. This is public land cattail marsh.

Basically speaking if theres beds out under the trees off the transition.(red dots) wind direction in blue and stand off to the side. I know individual exit trails will have to be found but is this the right way to view this??

Thanks in advance. :?:

I think you are on the right track, those red dot areas could definitely contain bedding if they are not under water. Not sold on your stand sight, might want to be closer to where the trails come through the cattails onto that point. If the wind is right when you hunt it, you might be able to walk in, look closely and pick the correct trail based on sign.

What kinds of trees are on that point to the south? I'd be looking for them coming up onto that hardwood point to browse.

Thanks guys. Yes ill get close to the entry/exits.
Those trees out in the cattails are small hemlocks or pines.
I won't be hunting it until about halloween. The sketch was quick. Im thinking there could be several stand possibilities along the entire edge depending in sign/trails?

Can you move the thread Mod?
Id like to ask what would be a good wind for this point.
I think in Dans vids he says down the point into the marsh?
