Bucks still grouped up ??

Unread postby Pullintoobs » Sun Oct 13, 2019 1:44 pm

I always thought bachelor groups have broken up by this time. Tonight I watched 4 really nice bucks come out of a very small patch of trees/brush between 2 fields. They all fed together for 10 minutes or so and made their way back into that patch. I know the young bucks will will stick around each other, but these were far from little bucks.

My rut isn't until Christmas, but I routinely encounter bachelor groups containing at least one 3+ year old into November.

Not uncommon in early to mid Oct. That’s going to change pretty quick now that scrapes are opening up and they are getting a bit more aggressive.

Their going to be bedding piggy back style on the one patch of dry ground if it doesn't stop raining soon.

Buck I shot tonight was with his buddy. I think it's area by area. Private ground I was on last night they were already split up out making scrapes.
