Tethrd Platform
Anyone use the Tethrd Platform for their stand without a saddle? I hang and hunt about every time I hunt, and usually, that is with one of my boys along with me. Sticks and LWs and away we go. In trying to fit 2 stands in the same tree all time, and 75% of my hunts being under 2.5 hrs, just curious what your thoughts are if you have one or not.

It’s doable if you don’t like to move much. I stand on my for extended periods to release tension on my saddle. It’s a nice break from time to time but your very limited for room. Don’t try it without a safety harness since it’s easy enough to lose your balance being so small and having your feet so close together. Saddles are so light these days why not just use one with the platform? You can wear it in and one less thing to carry. They weigh less than most safety harnesses.

Honestly, Id just be worried about the safety. Im not the best at ropes, knots, etc...also worried about it on my back. Sitting for long periods of time or being restricted there on my hamstrings kills my back.

If I were going to go that route I'd make a simple fleece saddle and back it up with a rock climbing harness. That way you could use it to your full advantage but not sink a bunch of money into it.

I agree with this. Or add a sit drag and RCH instead of fleece saddle. I definitely wouldn't try to just stand on the platform unsupported somehow. Just sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Re: Tethrd Platform
Like the guys already said above, it could be done but you will be far more comfortable and safe to go ahead and pair it up with a saddle or diy saddle plus a rock climbing harness vs a traditional tree stand harness.
I'll stand on mine for a few minutes at a time while in the saddle, but no way would I want to be forced to attend on it for hours.
