Congrats on filling your tag. Plenty of time to hunt another state. It would be really tough not to be in a tree in November.

Hunt another state for sure. I have a bird dog, so I'll spend more time with him. Also have buddies who don't deer hunt, but die hard duck hunters and musky fisherman, so I seem to spend a lot more time with them. Until I tag out, I'm radio silent with most of my buddies, out there grinding out a buck. Once I'm tagged out then I become social again lol.

Agree. I even sat in a tree during the rut plenty of times without a buck tag just enjoying the show. One warning though you will likely see a buck bigger than the one you killed. It’s almost guaranteed to happen.

I am in the same boat. Tagged out.

Prolly do a lot of monitoring of hunting areas. Some scouting.

Muskellunge fishing. Doe hunting. Grouse hunting.

Most important watching my little one and letting my wife enjoy days free of responsibility!

Build points for next year! ;)

Yes this will happen - It did for me back to back years. I didn't tag out early just shot my bucks the first of my vacation both years. Nothing better than scouting and hunting for a doe. Both years I learned a lot & had more fun in the stand. No pressure of shooting something you have been waiting for since the last season, that part is done. I sat some spots those 2 years & each year had a 4 year old walk past within 10 yards. I learned more during this time on both accounts than more all my scouting. I was watching first hand mid day movement & how older class deer move. So I would say pick some spots, & sit for the next year. Don't even need to take a bow if you dont want.

Out of state?

Coyote / Predator hunting?

Scouting ...scouting ...scouting (outside of modern gun seasons)

Study the beast like it's your job!!!! The site is really going to start heating up soon. Hit up the all time greatest threads.
Hunt another state for sure and scout for next year all your spot's you currently hunt. Maybe deploy some cams for long periods of time through the rut....

Go somewhere else, buy a tag, and have fun.

buy another tag and keep hunting would be a best case scenario. There are several states with over the counter tags. Trips out of your comfort zone make your skills grow exponentially, at least in my opinion.
