Does anyone use the Razor HD 27-60 x 85 Angled Spotting Scope?
I can get a good discount on some of the vortex products and I've been leaning towards this spotting scope. I can get it for 1,300.00 shipped to my door.
Do you have one/have you used one? What are your thoughts on it? I want to be able to see out to 1,000 yards and make out a deer/elk's size.
I can get the Viper HD 20-60x85mm Angled Spotting Scope for 700.00 to my door. So is the extra 600.00 for the razor HD worth it?

I can't give you much feedback on this scope. But over on the rokslide forum they have TONS of info about spotting scopes. Brands, sizes, weight, particular applications for sizes and power.
Recently I have been wanting a 65mm scope and I have found out lots by reading in the OPTICS portion of the site. A common rule is to buy once and cry once.
Oh and for the scopes I have priced, b and h photo was lowest. A main guy on rokslide is a sales guy at cameraland store. And lots of people buy from him.

You don't have to be the best, just do your best.

I have the viper HD you mentioned. I've had it about year and a half. Been very happy with it. When weather conditions are good I can read road signs over a mile away. However I haven't tried the razors so cant comment on those. For me mid priced optics are what I like as the quality gain slows compared to the price jump. Get a good tripod! I use a vortex I think the model is the summit.
It only takes 15 seconds for the hunt of a lifetime.

I bought the 1st gen 20x60x85 HD razor earlier this summer and have been using it for about 2 months.
It is a good scope for the price point.
It has good clarity and light transmission that gets a bit worse as you get up towards 60x.
I would recommend it unless you have the budget for high end glass.
I have been looking at white tails at ranges past what I can make out in Nikon 10x42 monarch binoculars with great clarity. I don’t know exactly how far but it is a long way.
