Shot my first buck , thanks to Dan!!

Unread postby Denisboyko22 » Sat Sep 21, 2019 8:43 am

I just started hunting last year and all my buddies would find a nice field edge or something like that or go to their go to spot every weekend and I didnt like that because I only saw does and a few yearling bucks , watched everyone of Dan's videos and put them to use and studied his information too and found this buck on a trail camera a week before opening day at 2:30 am and then me and a buddy pin pointed him down to 3 different spots and just happens he was in the least expected spot of the 3 , I was walking to setup on the bottom of a ridge by some bedding 2 hours before dark but I walk by the area want to sneak in my from the back but it was to thick so I walked back half and went in as soon as I could and now looking at the map and where he came from , the buck watched me walk by him on the human trail and on the way back I got within 100 yards of him but he never seen me sneak in so he got up and walked across the human trail and then stopped 40 yards from where I was setup and walked probably 60 yards and then stopped and waited for about 40 minutes until it got alittle darker and then started walking again for 15 more yards and I took the shot 5 minutes before sunset ! It was my first ever deer and a very nice one all thanks to dan and his tactics!

Did I forget to mention I lost my release the previous hunt in the swamp so I used my fingers on my 60lb bow and shot him and he dropped dead running face first into the mud about 100 yards away !!

Dude, that's awesome! Way to go! And way to make it happen without the release!
