Hello Beast Nation,
I have a question on hunting river bottoms and swamps. I scouted a parcel that has a river passing through it. On opener this past weekend the river had raised a lot due to rain. The spot I hunted was an oxbow on the river. I also had a trail camera that I set up above a hill on the river that captured some good buck and deer movement. My question is, does the flood of water from rain affect deer movement? I hunted the evening where my trail camera had videos of bucks moving through during daylight and right before sunset hours. I was hoping on seeing something that evening on my hunt but nothing came through.

Re: hunting flooded rivers and swamps
In a lot of the public land I hunt, the water level is a significant factor. The fluctuating water levels can expose ground that makes good bedding or cover up ground that holds good bedding.
