Re: All day sits
For archery in Maryland I will start sitting all day on Halloween. For rifle season in PA, I which doesn't start until November 30, I will sit in the same tree from day 1.

Re: All day sits
Where i hunt my best days are Oct 26-31. A guys I hunt with always gets a good buck on Nov 4. I never made it past Oct 31 without having a deer or two down...
Oct 26 for me if I only had 1 day to hunt that year.

Re: All day sits
From about October 20 on I just plain try and be in the woods as much as possible. Seems many of the times I intend to be out all day I end up killing late am or early pm though. Will also move based on sign, ind switches etc.
I've also been pretty successful going in between 9-10 and sitting the remainder of the day.

Re: All day sits
Archery, October 25 until end of season. Only comes into play when it is cold, below 50. Warm weather significantly cuts down mid day action. I generally stay out when I am seeing enough action to suspect there is a hot doe around.
Rarely if ever plan to sit in the same tree all day. Quite often I'll sit my morning tree through mid day, then make a quick move at 2 or 3 for the evening. Or even sit a mid day tree for a specific reason. Not literally an all day sit but materially close.
I don't much buy into the whole rut phases thing. There's a solid month with good rut action here. What phase you see varies day to day and based on weather and luck.
Rifle, I sit all day the first day and the Saturdays when the most guys are out pushung deer around.
