This is a huge buck no mater how you slice it. Rack or body... but I think it fits when talking about weights...

It scores in the low 140’s but look at how small the rack looks on the body. My grandpa claims it was over 300lbs on the hoof. And I believe it. He claims that in the picture he (my grandpa) was 6’ 255lb.

None of my bucks have dressed 198!!

The heaviest I have killed was a 7.5 year old that dressed 177

These corn-fed fellas up here get big bodies pretty quick.

This buck was 109" and dressed 200.....as you can see he was all neck. Actually passed him earlier in the day because I didn't think his rack was big enough!

We still have wiegh stations in vermont.
Almost every gas station has a buckpool that 10$ entry heavyiest buck wins and its never the biggest rack

Not to many people care about antlers in small towns its about body size everyone asks how much a deer weighed not antler size where i live....
U drive couple hrs towards the, city to the flatlanders and its all skinny jean kids talking about inches while they scroll through Facebook looking at scent lock hunting in there pre set stands, nwver shooting anything but they take cool selfies in the tree and have cool face paint.

I killed this one the end of December and he only dressed at 162. I'm sure he was easily 30 pounds heavier back in October. He only had a 110ish busted up rack but his body was big as a horse. Sent the teeth out and he was 9.5 years old. I actually passed him up three years earlier thinking he was younger.

Everything about him was huge, I've never seen one like it. His skull dwarfs this 2.5 year old.

Do u guys have the 200lb club where I live?

The state of Vermont sends patches we stitch on to our wool jackets that say 200lb big buckclub

Always amazed other states dont have wiegh stations too
When,I was a kid going to the store to show off amd wiegh in ur doe or buck and all the old guys drinking coffee congratulating me was the best part of hunting.

Its like a community thing people that cant hunt or,dont, hunt love going to the stores seeing the wieghts and pictures everyday.

Wish everyone would do it.

I have never killed a big little buck but I have killed a little big buck. Over 100” which is usually 3 or 4 yo around here under 100 lbs dressed.
Some do. Some don't. I just might...

That is amazing. Talk about a mature buck. The things that old fella must have been through...

Very cool and congrats.

Hard to tell the neck size at this angle but the taxidermist said this buck had the largest neck of any deer he took in that year and he is located in Illinois. I hunted this buck basically by his tracks for 2 seasons before actually laying eyes on him and I took him the first encounter on the first sit in his bedding area. This buck is basically just g2s and main beams as everything else is very short.

I also have an older pic somewhere of a 3.5 yr old that doesnt even break 100". It weighed 188 dressed and was aged at 3.5.

Mississippi public land, scored around 110” and weighed 215 pounds with guts still in. Don’t normally get that size in mature hardwoods.

I was thinking... the body sizes you guys are showing... I would see those bodies and think the headgear is bigger. Something for me to consider if I ever hunt the north

I did however kill a 250lb doe in mid Ohio but that was before dressed
She has been my biggest bodied deer killed
