When to expect acorns to drop

Anyone know when pin or northern pin oaks drop? We have a ton up here.

Probably already dropping, I think of acorns like the bell curve of the rut, the start in late Aug and don't stop until they are done.

Reds and Whites have been dropping here in central Michigan for more than a week now. Big healthy acorns too. Seems like an early start this year for acorns.
