Deer vision VS Infrared camera

Not sure on the IR stuff. But Pre Ban is spot on, on the UV stuff. Deer have way more receptors (can never remember if it's the rods or cones) in their eyes. That can pick up UV light. This allows better night vision. It also takes away their ability to see red/orange colors. I believe they see blues and yellows the best. Or at least closer to how we see them.

Just did a quick image search. Link shows thier visual spectrum. Granted these guys are trying to sell product but ive seen similar breakdowns from collegiate sources.
