Milkweed yet?
Just came across the mother load of milkweed today and picked just a few pods. They look about the same size I picked them at last year and they worked very well. Think I picked too early? Or are people starting to collect them already?

Re: Milkweed yet?
Might depend on location, but you may be a bit early... Not sure they have fully developed inside yet. Let us know when you have dried them.

So does that mean you don't drink if milkweed isn't brought up?

It was too early for me here in Michigan. I picked and dried them but they hadn’t fully developed yet.

I think you might be early with those pods. I really prefer to let them mature and start to dry up and discolor on the stalk before picking them, even to the point where they are starting to split open. At this point they are completely dried and ready to go. This is generally after the hunting season has already started for me.

I'm driving up 67 right now. Ton of it in the northbound lane ditch whenever the trees thin out. 5-6 miles south of Fredericksburg
Find this sign, bunch in these open ditches
