Who's been shining and or sitting observation stands?

Unread postby stash59 » Thu Jul 18, 2019 9:31 am

Gonna try to get out shining at least once yet this summer. May get to go with hunter_mike in the next couple weeks. Mainly just for fun. Hope to make it down to my buddies place and talk him into going. This would be little more serious, since if I get to hunt at all this fall. It'll probably be down there.

Should just hop in the car some evening and try to observe some fields from it too!

I was doing the same, but at the daughter's softball game. With a softball mom even. 8-)

Did some observation last Saturday and a driveby on Monday but didn't see anything good.

I am going to get out for the shine/stand next week. I'm going to have to get off the beaten path for an observation stand because the best spots are in swales.

Been out glassing about three nights a week. Located 4 bucks that I would call shooters on public so far, and another half dozen that might get there. I am still kinda new to this so shooter might be relative.

I’ve put on about 5000 miles of windshield time in the last month. Just have my routes planned to drive by a lot of public land when I’m bouncing between plants I strategically pick.

I did some driving last weekend. No shining or glasses. Just learning the roads and fields of a new area. Saw a few small bucks next to the road which was encouraging. I'll be putting in some time to shine and glass in August, God willing.
