I'd be willing to bet the sport of road hunting and spotlighting isn't near as big of a deal up north as it is in the south. Kind of a pastime for outlaws down here. Robo-bucks and law changes have put somewhat of a damper on it in recent years. Unfortunately that also penalizes the ones doing it for scouting and inventory purposes.
