Lone wolf assault seat attached to one of my beast sticks. It is awesome! I’m carrying the sticks in anyway so just eliminated having to carry and set the platform up separate.

I was working on my own version of a cast one, but after the predator came out, decided I would use my to use my time for other stuff.
I paracoreded my predator, put some hose around the leveling bracket, and it seems pretty good. Using a rope mod in place of the buckle, may put a LW buckle back on it. Like it a lot, just have to use it more.

Yeah the predator is great and there isn’t really any modded that needs to be done. Something to cushion the blow of the leveling bolt and the post when folded up from making noise is it. I just added the little felt cushion furniture pads to where noise could come from.

I still have my old LW Assassin. It has served me well for many years. Although I have no personal experience with a Predator, if I were a climbing stick user in the market for a platform, I would buy a Gen II Predator. If WE Stepps are your climbing aid, the WEI Perch may fit the bill. If you are on a budget there are plans for a 3/4" plywood platform that fits WE Stepps over at SaddleHunter.com. I've used both the Asassin and plywood platform extensively. Other than the weight of the Assassin, I have no complaints. This past season I used DIY sitrrups made of 1" tubular webbing. This worked well for hunts lasting only a few hours. Regardless, rich man or poor, there are lots of options these days.

Re: Best platform for saddle hunting
Sorry guys but you'll have to use your imagination. I have LW stick cut down with a LW seat on it. I then have a Double step at the top of the stick. It allows me to push off each side while keeping one foot on the edge of the platform - if that makes sense. Also, It allows me to rest one foot on the platform and one foot on the top step which is how I sit most of the time. Almost like im half leaning and half sitting.
