Draw Bedding

I wouldn’t consider the hills I hunt to be bluff country. But rather draw country. With that said, I’ve noticed mature buck bedding at the heads of those draws. Does anyone else find a majority of beds at the heads of draws when hills are a little more gradual?

During the rut. They can monitor lower level doe travel via thermals and visually catch any doe movement along the top of the draw. I haven’t seen that to be like, ‘primary’ buck bedding. But never say never...

Certainly makes sense.

I have found beds many times on small humps or tiny points in the head of draws.
It gives them a great view, they are still on the leeward side of the ridge, day time thermals are pulling up the draw and the wind seems to swirl more in the top of a draw than on a straight ridge.
