I’d probably retire a millionaire from all the money saved lol I really enjoy small game hunting and bow fishing so that’s probably what would take up the slack of not deer hunting

Yep, still more than plenty for me to do. While I would absolutely miss chasing deer, I would enjoy the additional time for fishing, small game, traveling, hiking/camping, foraging, and maybe I'd finally take up duck hunting (which is something I would like to do, but I know better than to add yet another hobby into my already busy fall).

Hunt and trap other critters, fish, play some golf. It would certainly be weird not chasing whitetails.

I've got a plenty of things I NEED to be doing and lots of other things I enjoy that I COULD be doing. But there is nothing I would RATHER be doing than deer huntin. So, I'd be bummin. There was a time, not that long ago, (40 yrs) when our part of the state had very few deer. I hunted waterfowl, small game, pole and line fished for crappie and walleye, ran nets, trapped, coon hunted with dogs, speared turtles through the ice, picked pecans and acorns and cut firewood to stay busy. I still take the time to enjoy some of those things to this day. So. After watching the rise of our deer herd, only to later watch it fall to "unhuntworthy" levels, would be devastating to me. :violin:

More duck hunting. I already try and balance it with deer hunting but I do love my duck hunting.

See my family more.....lol.

I love anything outdoors (especially fishing and pheasant hunting), so while I would certainly miss deer hunting, I would be just fine.

With that being said, bow hunting is #1 for me, so I hope you knocked on wood while talking about the deer population plummetting!

I'd probably wakeboard almost year round like I used to do. I would take a small winter trip snowboarding or summer trip to surf somewhere. I would bass fish some since it's on the same lake that I wakeboard on.

Honestly, I'm still pretty amazed that I ever got into hunting. I used to make fun of the guys who hunted when I was in high school because what kind of idiot would spend hours sitting in a tree freezing to death waiting on a deer? :?

I get the comment every season from my wife, "What happened to the man I married? He was just a wakeboard punk."

Being as I'm from a state who's deer herd was whipped out once from over hunting and had to be rebuilt from game stock from up north and the midwest, I know what I would do.

Bass fish more, shoot more long range target and load develop for my rifles.

And be come the best hog bow hunter the world has ever seen, while for atleast 5 to 10 years till the herd rebuilt and I could return too chasing racks.
