Re: Flashlight question
I used to always use a dim light or a green light. This year I was helping a friend track a deer at night. We were walking along a secluded cut corn field on public land. I scanned the field with a mag light and seen 6 deer. Non of them startled and kept going about their business eating. One was a decent buck. They would look our way as we had to walk to the other end of the field and than go back to eating. At one point we walked past a doe and her yearlings at a distance of maybe 30 yards. They never ran off but would watch and eat. I was shocked, because I figured they would have been gone the instant we entered the field. Now I just use a regular headlamp for safety and just dont try to bother any deer if I see them. I'm sure some deer would run as they all have their own personalities on how they react to certain things.

Re: Flashlight question
I always use a headlamp, as I am typically picking a tree in the dark. I have had lots of deer walk by me and not even notice the beam of light.
Anything worth doing, is worth over doing.

Re: Flashlight question
I've heard the hunting public guys say that they don't believe deer can see LED lights. Anyone else have this experience? I've flashed my light on deer walking out of the woods and they got a little nervous, but it's hard to tell if it's from my noise or light.
