Manipulating Movement on Public Land
I have a spot on public land that is pretty darn good during the rut for big woods public. The hard part about it is its thick enough that you can't shoot very far and doesn't naturally funnel the deer down enough to provide consistent shots. Being that its public land and cutting trees is out of the question what can be done to funnel the deer? I've considered piling up brush? Any thoughts?

Re: Manipulating Movement on Public Land
I have blocked off trails I didn’t want deer to use with downed tree tops and dead branches I find on the ground. This works especially well in thick cattails where there is a main trail that splits off into other multiple trails so I can guide deer to my stand location. Obviously I do this in the offseason to avoid leaving scent while hunting.

Same here. Just do it off season and use dead stuff to stay complaint with the regs.

Piling up brush should work fine.
Anything worth doing, is worth over doing.
