That video is what made me want to do it. It’s an awesome way to try before I buy. I’m just concerned that I don’t conpletely understand how to make it yet but I probably just need to try and then it will make more sense. I picked up my material so I’m ready to try.

All I can imagine is that my fat a-three-letter-word-for-donkey would rip through the fleece...

it's a temp solution till I figure out the bridge length is why I set this up this way
once I have some experience and tinkered with it
this will morph to amsteel bridge and more permanent seating

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, this picture of the fleece with the webbing knot is super interesting and pertinent to my situation. Anyone know of a breakdown as to how this was tied? Thanks!

Might be a dumb question, but how big of a piece of fleece are you using for this?

I would have to go back and look how big my piece was. I don't even remember where I put it.

It may even say in DaveT's video. He may even chime in.

I can't recall the exact measurements, I think I started with a 48x36 inch piece. The key is to have the knots out in front of you so they are not on your hips. I don't think you can make it to big (within reason)as you can adjust your bridge length.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS use a rock climbing harness with this system. Personally I've moved to the Phantom Saddle with backband these days as it's hands down the lightest, most comfortable saddle system I've ever used (with the exception of fleece for comfort) and it compacts down to nothing and easily goes into my pack.
