Third hand stabizer straps
Well yesterday my original lone wolf stabilizer strap finally broke a clip. I need new ones and third hand ones look great minus the metal buckle.
Anybody use these? Any issue with the metal and noise? Did you silence them? Thanks!

Re: Third hand stabizer straps
I've had a set for about five years now on my Summit Switchblade and really like them. I did use stealth strips on them and have no problem with noise.

Best thing for a climber ever made. Third hand ones are great
I never silenced mine, never much of an issue. Hardest part for me in my summit was getting in the dang thing without snagging a strap with my foot.

Much better and easier to use than lone wolf straps.

Same here.
Offsetting the top platform made it easier to get in.

I ended up putting my top section as high as I could reach and would just do a pull up and swing in from the front. Worked quite well

Re: Third hand stabizer straps
I had 3rd hand on an old summit and they were much better than the lone wolf ones. i believe they are longer as well.. not sure. Both lone wolf and 3rd hand do a great job at making the climbers feel rock solid but I feel like the 3rd hand ones are more durable. Those plastic buckets can break fairly easy.

FWIW:
I used to use my Third Hand Stabilizer straps as the connection between the platforms and to strap the sections together for back packing. That way you can ditch the rope and strap provided by Summit.

Re: Third hand stabizer straps
I have the Third Hand straps on my LW climber. Huge upgrade from the stock plastic junk. I wrapped the metal buckles with elastic medical tape. One clank on my stand and I knew something had to be done to eliminate that.

Agree on tape to silence buckles. It is also the best add on I've put on my climber. Feel safer and stand packs solid for transport. The hazmore seat was also a great addition to my old summit.

Re: Third hand stabizer straps
Have have the BK outdoors straps. I have been using them the past 2 season without issue. I like the quick release buckles better than the third hand clips. The carabiners are nice for clipping a pack and quiver to each side of my viper once up the tree.

Re: Third hand stabizer straps
I have had the 3h ones for years. Buckles are not really heavy enough to make a loud clank especially if your stand is already silenced. I love them.
As pointed out I use them to cinch the top/bottom sections when packing.
