Deer bedding on leeward side of levees?

Unread postby GrantHenderson » Fri Oct 26, 2018 1:51 pm

Hunting a river bottom this year and it's in a confluence. The area was put in for flood control with a series of levees. There isn't much for elevation variance besides the levees which are about 15ft high. The tops are like a freeway for travel and the crossings are numerous. What I found interesting in late summer scouting, is that bucks were bedding and travelling on that 1/3rd area from the top and bedding in these spots under scrub trees on the CRP side and in thickets on the wooded side. Not seeing them there during daylight hours so it appears to be a transitional bedding pattern at night. Curious if anyone has ran across this before?
