Re: Public land hot spots: By Dan Infalt
I was just about to post a topic to talk about what to exclude on an aerial photo when I saw this post. Great article. I heard you say in a couple of your videos that you are able to exclude almost 90% of an aerial before you even set foot on it. I automatically assume it's the spot that is the farthest away from the road or the swampiest spot. Reading your article it sounds like it could be right off the parking lot. I think the early spring scouting is the way to go so you have snow on the ground to see movement. All that being said, this is my first year going "Infalt Style" and I'm trying to do my best to scan aerials for new public land spots. I have hunted huge public land areas in Michigan for years. I have taken deer but never felt like I ever had them patterned or figured out. These are very large public land spots. I will be out there for the first week of November for a long bow season with just myself. I wanted to maximize my time by using aerials to exclude parts that are not worth the effort. Thank you for all your info! Good luck this year everyone. Stay safe.
