First Beast Style Kill...Ground Ambush
This is my first year actually implementing beast style hunting during the season. The prior two season I have scouted for buck bedding but did not actually hunt known beds. This past weekend I went out with the hopes to target a few areas that I had scouted during the spring.
Yellow Line: Deer Trails
Red X: Ground Set Up
Orange Circle: Acorns Dropping
I hunted this area Saturday morning with a NW wind and set up farther east to catch a buck coming back into this bed. I saw two 125" bucks feeding in the acorns around 8:45am. They did not end up coming back into the bedding area. I set up on an isolated patch of cover in the evening in a different location with no luck.
Sunday morning the wind switched and was blowing from the South at about 15 mph. I got in an hour and half before daylight sneaking along the north side of the lake to my spot. There are about 10-15 feet of 3-4 foot tall weeds all along the shore so I set up on a 5 gallon bucket with large dead tree at my back. Around 8am I saw the same two bucks from the day before as well as two other smaller bucks. Then the big one appeared and they fed for about 30 minutes in the area circled in orange. The smaller bucks fed off one direction and then the big guy came on a beeline back to the yellow beds on the map. He came by at 13 yards and I put a perfect shot on him and ran about 100 yards and tipped over.
Have to say thank you for all the info guys post on here that have helped me gain such a deeper understanding of the mind and habits a mature bucks. I did some in season scouting that evening and found another awesome spot for next year!

Awesome buck! How close is the next piece of land to the South of that point? I've got some spots that look similar to that point down here in TN but the deer would have to swim about 100 yards across a lake to escape.

I would say about 250-300 yards. The water is maybe 2 feet deep all the way across. In my experience in this spot in the past 6 years before I knew about beast tactics and we would do small drives here the bucks would always come right back out through the narrow opening and go into the wind to escape.
