Hopefully this short video will answer many of the questions folks have had about how I modifying my helium sticks. One thing that I meant to mention that I did not is that I use a quarter inch Amsteel Blue (black color)

Very nice video. I don't have any sticks yet but I enjoyed the details in the video. Got me thinking of things to consider.

Re: Helium Stick Mod Q&A
I've watched your vids and they were helpful. I just did the rope mod on Friday night. Noticeably lighter and pack better than having the mount for the stock buckle strap.
I also purchased tubular webbing and will be using it at the top of the stick rather than the bottom of the stick.

Re: Helium Stick Mod Q&A
Great informative video Dave !!!
I do have one question
When you cut your stick, which end do you cut?
The bottom or the top?
Or does it matter?
Thanks

I cut mine from the top but really don't think it matters much

Re: Helium Stick Mod Q&A
Thanks for the video. Did you paint these sticks camo, or is that camo tape on them?

Re: Helium Stick Mod Q&A
Dave, now that you have a set of Dan's sticks how does your helium's compare? I also have a set of helium's looking to do the same thing you've done. However if Dan's sticks are that much lighter I will probably go with those instead of modifying mine. Have you weighed your sticks?
