While I have arrowed a mature 9 pt that came in directly downwind of some local deer farm hot doe pee, I haven't used any scents in the past 10 years, and do not intend on wasting money on them ever again. That was the only time a scent worked for me in all my past experiences using them.

October 15th, 2014 I killed a mature piebald 8 pt using a few aggressive grunts. I have had better luck calling at the right times, when a known shooter is out of range.

Calls for sure. My grunt call has helped close the distance and put down a few good bucks.
