Anybody need or want milkweed!?!

It’s everywhere in Michigan. I have a private stock of mike weed growing in our front flower bed. My wife tried to pull it out. I thought I was going to have to serve her devorce papers. Just kidding. She did want to pull them out through.

I'll be doing that next year, growing that is, not the divorce! Been there, done that noise. It is everywhere and honestly I'm just trying to help guys out who don't know what to look for or generally don't have it growing nearby. It's a non important item for hunting but it'll help me out so it may help other you know....

Is it in shady areas? Sunny? Wet or dry? Or does it not matter much and depends on the area you live in?

I don't think it likes shade, I've never seen it in the middle of the woods only clearing and fields. But I have seen frowning out of a creek and on an oil drilling pad so wet or dry doesn't matter.

I found some pods yesterday. How dry do you guys usually make the pods before you use them?

I let them sit in the sun until the seeds turn brown

I found it this year in a hillside that was once multiflora but the milkweed grew so so thick it has start to choke out the multiflora I never thought that was posible

The rain has finally quit! I got out last night and picked a bunch of the milkweed, so I will be mailing out today and tomorrow!

Would everyone who pm'd be willing to pay their own shipping? I never thought it would cost so much to send this stuff out, but with how many guys want some and it averaging 8.95 to ship one bag, it added up quickly.

I found my first milkweed this past weekend and picked two gallon size Ziploc bags full. Hopefully I'll be set for awhile. Took forever to track some down, but now that I know what I'm looking for I'm seeing more of it.

I spent my summer cruising roads and scanning the ditches for milkweed patches. Luckily it's pretty plentiful around here, but I did note a few big patches that I'm revisiting now.

I just got 20 pods. I plan on cutting a strip in some of them and drying them out. Can i freeze the rest and use them later or just dry out all 20? Also do i need to dry them out immediately after i pick them?
