Good luck guys!
Two weeks ago, I found these two on 5 acres that my uncle lives on just outside of Nashville. Unfortunately I couldn't get permission to go up and hunt them.

Re: TN velvet hunt opens tomorrow!!!
I'm not sure about live from the field, never tried that one. Can someone explain how it works?
I went in this afternoon after I got off work. I went where I cyber scouted and got skunked. No deer sightings, no deer blowing and little sign. Pulled my lw after my hunt tonight and Going back in early tomorrow morning. Going to access similar tomorrow morning and try to find an opening I can see and shoot in. It was thicker than I expected, and 30 yards was my farthest shot I could have taken.
I have an idea that they bed on this pine thicket hill top. My plan is to set up based on terrain and attempt to catch a buck j hooking or cruising mid morning. Gonna stay aggressive throughout the day tomorrow and might even attempt to bump a few then setup immediately. With it being so thick and no human intrusion to speak of, I don't see them running for the hills if I do bump them.
I should have been more aggressive this afternoon but I needed to make sure there wasn't a buck skirting the obvious spot. I think it's also best to hunt this small of a property in layers and save your best projected spots for when I have all day to get it set.
There were some big velvet bucks hitting Facebook from tn. I saw a 13 and a 12 point on there, hopefully they are legit and came from TN and not someone just playing.
Thanks for all the well wishes will add updates!

That's awesome! I passed a 7 point a few seasons ago while bow hunting because he wasn't what I wanted. If he's a solid 2/ 2.5 year old outside of the ears, I might try to take him. Good luck this morning!

Nice! And I see that it was killed on an early season morning hunt.

Its my own property and I know next year he will be a better buck. Having 2 bigger bucks around I decided to pass. I only get 2 bucks to kill early season I'm probably too selective.

Re: TN velvet hunt opens tomorrow!!!
I posted my conclusion in the live from the field thread.
I only saw and bumped one deer on the 25 acres I had permission to hunt. Crept into where it was bedded and it was too thick to see well or shoot and I'm certain it was a smaller bodied deer. There's a tn deer hunting page on Facebook and wow they are laying down some big bucks! Had fun and am happy to see this velvet hunt be a huge success.
I'm going to spend the rest of my weekend with family good luck to all the hunters still going after velvet!

Re: TN velvet hunt opens tomorrow!!!
I went on Friday and Saturday afternoon. Temps and hiking, with my stand through CRP fields that were head high, made for a miserable hike. But once in the woods, I had a bachelor group of 7 bucks come in, two were 3 1/2 year old that I had seen and named last season. Their antlers looked good, but I could tell their bodies were not mature yet. Last year at this time, I would of taken either 3 1/2. But after shooting and not recovering a 4-5 year old at the end of last season, I couldn't pull the trigger on these two. I hope I'm not developing the "it must be a monster for me to shoot" mentality. We will see how the season goes. I might just take a shot at one of those when I can look at their antlers without velvet. Good news is, I forgot about a camera that I placed in January and it had 2888 pics. Half were from a vine blowing in front of the camera! No big bucks, but just about every creature in the woods came by.
