Has anyone heard of, or tried, the knaider and swaider? I found this on youtube. I believe it was invented by a couple guys on the saddle hunter forum. I'm going to at least try the knaider and add a rope loop to the bottom of each stick that I can hook to. You should be able to get about 3'-4' between climbing sticks.

I think there are a few guys on the saddle hunter forum who are going to run that setup. It looks novel, but i sometimes think these guys like to climb trees more than they like to hunt

Double step allows me to get my first stick high. On a sketchy tree, as I go up, I can only use the single step or not use it at all. Total flexibility.

Sticks pack better without aider attached.

There's no aider dangling in the wind at deer eye level.

I ran single steps off my 3 full length hawks last year. I ran the webbing through the holes in the steps and tied a water knot behind the bracket. I figure the singles were in the 18”-24” range but never put a tape to them. I’m 6’3” though and I could get 22’-23’ in a good shumard oak or cottonwood. The aiders were a little sketchy on severe angles but the longer helium sticks themselves don’t handle hard angles all that great. Enter beast sticks to help me out on that front. As for packing, I had no issues stacking them. I just wrap the aider upwards on the stick so it doesn’t cram the tree brackets.

I'm wanting to make a single aider. How long does it need to be? How do I make it correctly?..
