Cottonwood Seed as a wind checker?

Howdy,

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with Cottonwood seed as a wind checker? Does it work similar to milkweed or is it too heavy?

Yes just make sure u r not allergic or it makes for a long afternoon.

Just noticed that thistles produce a floating seed that works great.
