I just learned on a hunting show that the only time you can get near a deers bed successfully is when it’s really windy  Pshhh

I guess I've been doing it wrong.
It's not the destination, it's the journey getting there!

Yea.. once you're close to a bed the only day to get them pulled off the bed is to rattle real loud. They come running out with their tung out like a dog. A friend of a friend seen it first hand!

there is a trick to this. As you near your stand start making wind noises with your mouth to cover your ground noises. the deer will just hear the wind and think nothing of it.
another trick i like to use is to put sunglasses in the buck beds. they put them on and in seems darker to them so they move earlier.

I hope you guys appreciate the fact that I am willing to give up all my hunting secrets. Here is another one that I have never shared with anyone.

I place a tape recorder in the buck bed and continually play a subliminal message that says " I love human scent, I must investigate human scent" then I hunt that spot when my scent blows directly into the bed. dont forget to hunt earlier if you placed sunglasses in there as well.

Maybe we can get Dan to add this to the all-time best tactics thread?

I like owl hooting mid day to trick them nocturnal buggers into believing it's night time.

tip for bait pile hunters:

plant marijuana (where legal) in the bedding area. the buck will consume the herb and get the munchies. your bait pile will get hammered!

I’m definately going about this all wrong. With all these new tactics I should have a state record by the end of the season. Maybe even world record. If I do il make sure I get it scored right away and let everyone know where I shot it and blast pics on every hunting site. Man this is gonna be my year.

another trick that has worked well for me is to walk in backwards on the snow. When the deer sees my tracks he thinks I was heading out. Imagine their surprise when they walk right up to me! more than one booner has fallen to this tactic!

On really windy days I bring out the antler wind chimes and set up 20 yards down wind and they come running so fast I can pick the one I want most times.
