Looks like you guys have a lot of fun together. Lots of memories from over the years. I've always hunted alone and prefer the simplicity of it. However, I see where having a group of trusted comrades could be a ton of fun. Great video as always.

I enjoyed this. Back in the day we used to put some good drives together. Haven't done one in probably 12 yrs. It was alot of fun with the boys. Great memories. Thanks for sharing Dan.

Watched the whole thing last night on YouTube. Really enjoyed it. I've always been curious as to how exactly those drives are set up from a strategic standpoint. Getting that core group of guys is critical. Much easier said than done.

Recognize some faces from the workshop I attended. I'm a little envious of the group dynamics you guys have, hoping to foster that with some of my local hunting buddies.
Thank you Dan for sharing this.

Truly enjoyed the show!
I have been trying to do this every January but I only have one brother who does it with me. Those two man drives can be a challenge! The best part about the drive is the memories that I make with my brother. Hopefully I can push something big to him next year so he can get a big one down! Love these styles of podcasts!

That's just it. Weird how hunting has changed over a couple generations in that way, not to mention the changes in property ownership.
My pap, driving was all they did in their youth. They had a hardcore gang and all the landowners within miles let them hunt. The way I understand posting ground was unheard of in Western PA until the 80s and really took off in the late 90s.
Now I have one good friend I trust with my spots. I use all my vacation in bow season and while I love driving, I just don't have the time for it. And the area I grew up hunting you just can't drive. The private is all posted and the public is too crowded.

Re: Drivers Education! (DEER DRIVES)
Good stuff!
I observe a LOT of hunters by me on the public aimlessly doing drives. Sure, randomly lining up 9 guys and walking a CRP field at 8 mph with the wind at their backs will result with a good buck meeting his demise every now and then, but it usually just pushes the deer back to areas I’ll be in, where you have to get wet to access, and we all know how a majority of hunters feel about water lol.

I do enjoy watching these deer drive videos to see a different side of hunting than I do.
I don't mean this in a bad way but does anyone feel guilty doing deer drives on public land? I'm curious if you get out there and their are guys perched in a tree for a few hours do you still drive? Again, don't mean this isn a negative way, just not sure how the ethics work on public land deer drives.

Yes and no. It’s public so technically I’m not in the wrong, but if I can I always try to let the guy I run into know what’s going on so he can be ready to shoot. Or what happened 2 years ago. Woke the guy up, and he ended up shooting a deer.
For the most part I don’t see guys in the stuff I want to push, so I’m not really worried. I also don’t do drives or pushes until the middle of the week where you need to drive a couple miles to find a truck.
You have a monkey Mr. Munson?
