I think I am going to get away from mounts unless the buck is out of this world special, stick to euros and old fashioned slap them on a board.

Build a house with lots of wall studs! Not commenting bc im a BBSK, just right now I have deer in storage bc havent found safe spots to hang them. Got two at my mother's house. I personally love euro mounts and anything under 125" I get a skull mount. One cool thing iv seen is basement support beams are great spot for euro mounts or I really like those old log pieces guys use in corners of the house for them. I know a couple older guys that just hack the horns off of booners!... they are justpast keeping trophies I guess.

However, I do know someone who shoudler mounts every single buck and it doesnt matter he size. By far one of the coolest trophy rooms iv ever seen. Even tho most of us could never afford that amount of taxidermy bills, seeing those deer brings a huge appreciate for each and I didnt even kill them. His living room is about maxed out but I look at and envy the smaller deer over his bigger ones. From 4 pointers to 100inchers.

I need at least one doe mount though... still wishing I mounted my first one bc she was beautiful.

I do my own whitetail taxidermy. It’s time consuming, and a lot of detail oriented work, but it’s extremely rewarding when finished. I’ve got some shoulder mounts and I’ve got some euro mounts. I by far personally prefer the shoulders. When your taxidermy is quality, you can look at the deer and it looks alive. When I look at my mounts I can almost see the emotion in the deer still. I simply can’t do that when I look at my euros. Not saying I don’t like them, because I do and will continue to euro some bucks, but good quality shoulder mounts are where it’s at for me. When it comes to what to do with them, that’s the easy part, just have a lot of wall space ;)

I don’t consider myself a BBSK but right now my mounts are scattered all over the house. Between bear, deer shoulder/euros/antler plaques and fish wall space is very limited right now. Gonna have to be something pretty darn special now to do a shoulder mount. Likely going to do euros on the rest. Told the wife she needs to build me a cabin so she can have her wall space back.

I'm no serial killer and I don't have the money or house to get a bunch of shoulders done. I have done euro for the past 2 bucks, I really like them. My dad has make some cool wood mounts for the skulls.

Wall space is certainly at a premium. Anymore, if its under 140 I do a euro. If its above 140 its a shoulder.

When I added onto my house I did a room with tongue and groove pine. I like the way it looks and the best thing is I don’t have to find a stud to hang a deer.

Same for me. I have a hunting room in my house that has a separate bathroom, closet for camo, and pine walls for mounts.
