I wonder whether anyone has ever deployed one of these on their deer stand? It's a bit more cumbersome than a milkweed pod, but once you get it set up you'll have continuous and effortless windchecking.

Re: Continous Wind-checker Machine
Obviously, this is a bit of a joke. But while blowing bubbles for my kids yesterday, I watched some travel nearly 100 yds and was fascinated at the way the wind shifted and swirled. It got me wondering if anyone has ever tried using bubbles on a stand before if milkweed wasn't available. It certainly wouldn't be the craziest thing a hunter has tried.

That would be hilarious and probably highly effective for observing wind currents. I say go for it and report back. Take pictures of your bubble machine while hunting please

In related news, seeds from at least one variety of milkweed began flying in central KS last week. Depending on where you live, it may be time to get out and begin collecting.

I litrrally was thinking of this last night during my run. I went on step further, with the idea of using scent. Bubbles fill with expanding gas that burst 50 feet from the stand site......useless yes.

Scratchman: My wife has these things called diffusers that she uses with essential oils. They're not too different from humidifiers. Anyway, I've jokingly asked her if I could borrow them for a weekend to disperse doe urine.

Re: Continous Wind-checker Machine
I was expecting a vap pen or fog machine.
I actually just filmed some thermals and wind with the use of smoke bombs. Pretty interesting a 50 yard move went from good to better. I’ll probably have that out by the end of the week
