If on deer or bear drives, 2 ham and cheese sandwiches, 2 apples, and 2 bottles of water. If on stand, I take water and an apple for all day sits but rarely touch either until after the hunt.

I always bring food. Sandwiches in ziplocks and a bag of nuts. Always water , I get whichever bottle is the thickest just so it’s not those cheap crinkly ones

A water bladder with a bite valve works so much better than any water bottle. If you hunt on a stand hang it on the tree by itself or in a pack and then drape the hose over your shoulder. Saddle hunting I use the small backpack my Kestrel came in. Works great. No more excessive movement fumbling around for a bottle or lifting your arms to drink from it.

Protein bars are really the only food I eat in the woods, but I always make sure to have plenty of water. Down here in Georgia, heat and humidity last into November and even December some years, so I end up sweating on stand a lot

I usually take protein bars and jerky like everyone else but I also discovered the joy of squeezable applesauce packets and fruit snacks I stole from my kids.
