Love reading how it all came to be. Awesome public land mulies BTW. SD don’t look to shabby for a good mule deer destination.
Teaching is only demonstrating that it is possible.... Learning is making it possible for yourself.

Re: My Hunter Profile
I spent plenty of time on grasshopper patrol and my grandpa's farm too! Good stuff! I remember that W2H article but never connected the dots. Going to go back and find it again!

Re: My Hunter Profile
Thanks for the kind words everyone!
It is a fun state to hunt, especially the mulies. Like anything it takes some boot leather and patience to get on them. Tons of glassing. The first couple years I never saw any big mulies at all. Eventually we found some better properties but even then it takes some determination and a little luck. My rifle mulie was killed 1.9 miles from the truck as the crow flies. I think it took 4.5 hours for two of us to cart him out.

Dewey wrote:Great job on the write up. Nice seeing all the older pics when you were younger.
You have way more energy than me for doing a profile.
Like I said at the beginning I foam at the mouth when it comes to talking deer. I probably wouldn't have taken all that time to dig out all those old pictures but my wife made me a hunting scrap book when we were dating so they were easily accessible.
