While I try my best to not have my scent blowing into bedding, I personally put more emphasis on my thermals. There’s certain periods of time when bucks move(daybreak,10-11ish,sunset). In most situations where I hunt, the winds are light and variable in early morning and late evening. I position myself below where I expect him to come thruough because of falling thermals. In late mornings I might shift to above the trails into bedding if the wind is still light and thermals are strong and lifting now. If the wind is strong and consistent I might stay below/downwind. I hunt off the ground and have had a lot of close encounters without getting busted.
