She needn't understand. Just needs to know that this is something that recharges your spirit and is a huge part of who you are. As long as she knows you value her, and you keep her happy, life is good!

Awesome story. I can hardly believe the condition of the sheds. Spectacular.
Those "secondary" beds get hot in late October. It keeps the bucks close to action. I've screwed up on many.

You make a great point! His "secondary bed" allowed him to watch for does as well. This was maybe even a bigger reason for bedding where he did.

Absolutely! I'm going to steal an idea from Bucky and tie them together with a small rope and hang them below the mount on a hook. That way I can pull them off and show them off whenever. Unless anyone else has a cool idea?

I like the way your "overthinking" the scenarios. My guess by the way you describe it, is anything less than overthinking. When a guy knows the smallest details of a particular deer and shares the story on how he thinks that deer thought, bedded, and moved are one of my favorite topics. They don't come up often but it puts things into perspective on what it takes to kill an old smart pressured buck. It's more then just bouncing from pre scouted bedding areas. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Also, finding those sheds are icing on top of an already iced cake. Congrats man!!

Awesome
Btw you are spot on about wet feet warming up!! I purposely swamped my knee boots (had to break ice) to get to an island last spring and I figured I’d be done after that but the exact situation you described took place. Kept scouting “comfortably” after the initial shock wore off

Great finds!
One question...How far was the secondary bedding from the primary bedding?
