Marsh hunting

Unread postby Rob loper » Sun Jan 14, 2018 5:19 am

Ok the marsh is to the north ,north east ,and north west woods is south west south east and south
Alot of beds on points where beds are then trails going out to red brush in marsh lots of rubs leading to marsh along tranny lines of se side of points
Beyond the woods to southern directions are a bike path throught the woods than runs from nw to se
Beyond that is housing developments
Being wind savy and knowing bucks will use beds with wind from woods blowing out to point into the meadows.
Well the deer are locked in if they dont bed in marsh they be behind the houses and would have to cross the huge bike path people constantly use
I hope this makes sense. But how would i hunt this i hear the bucks will only bed these points with a southerly wind ( from what i gave learned). But they have no where to go
But to this marsh for saftey. Its public and gets hunted
How should i be looking at this piece and how to hunt it

Any chance you can get an aerial without giving up your location?

I think that’d help the guys who know what they’re talking about figure out a game plan for you.

Cheers

Not necessarily. Sometimes bucks use non wind specific bedding. Once I locate the beds, I hunt down the food sources, then I hunt or observe on a wind that's opposite food to bed or a slightly off wind giving the elusion of the deer having wind in his favor. A lot of hunters locate the beds no prob, but have trouble piecing the wind, food, timing, etc. seasons and observations help narrow down these factors.
